Irish Roads.

I drove up to Limerick today and all the way from Charleville to Croom I
was behind an artic. No safe chance to get in front so I pondered the
state of Irish roads instead.

for a lot of the journey on this MAIN road between No.2 City and No.3
City the truck had barely enough room on its side of the road. It often
drove along the centre-line with less than 1ft clearance between it and
the dashed-margin line. Of course beyond the margin line was pure ditch.
It doesn't leave a whole lot of room for manoeuvre if the truck needs
to take avoiding action.

  1. I'm getting tired of saying this but Irish roads are shit! 90% of traffic accidents on irish roads are caused by the quality of the roads themselves. I am sick to death of people preaching telling others to slow down, when the road speed limits are set too fast for the quality of the road surface i.e. People travelling too fast for the quality of the road are not in fact, breaking the law. If speed limits were set to the actual quality of the road, Ireland would grind to hault overnight.
